We do not meet on snow days, student-teacher conference days, the day before Thanksgiving, and school holidays.   In the event a class must be canceled because the school district has been closed (i.e., snow day), the makeup day will be on Wednesday, May 27th.

Registration for the 2019-2020 season will open at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11th.  Specific details including the cost and volunteer requirements are listed once you click on the link to register.  Only online registration with successful payment before the deadline will be accepted.  No late registration will be accepted.  Space is limited and fills quickly!   First come, first serve.

The registration for Chess Club is officially closed for the 2019-2020 season.  If you have any questions, please email us at directly.  The "Click here to register" button below is only for registered kids to complete payment.

Our parent classroom volunteers are required to stay until the last child is picked up from class. Please respect our volunteers’ time by picking your child up promptly at 1:30 (pick up for Advanced class is 1:55).  There will be a $20 charge for late pickups.  Multiple late pick ups (or one excessively late pick up) will result in exclusion of the student.

If you wish to permit your child to sign him/herself out from class and walk/bike home, you must complete the Medina Elementary Chess Club Permission Slip to Walk/Bike Home found on our website,, and return it to our Chess Club CO-Chairs.   Please note once a child signs out, they are required to leave the school campus due to district policy.

All participants are expected to be respectful and cooperative. We can exclude a student from the club meetings (after sufficient warnings) if we feel the student's behavior is disturbing other students.

We take the safety of your children seriously. If your child will not be at chess club, please email prior to that day’s chess class start time.  We understand children get sick and vacations happen, just please notify us and the school of your child's absence.  Unexcused absences will result in removal of the student from the club without refund.
