Medina Math Club is for 4th and 5th grade students who are interested in Math Competitions. The club will cover advanced math topics in 4th and 5th grade levels. The focus will be on preparing kids for math competitions, and developing advanced problem solving skills.
Club Practices: On Tuesdays, 2:40 pm to 4:00 pm, from 9/25/2018 to 4/30/2019, check in at the cafeteria.
Textbook: Prealgebra by AoPS. All students should obtain the textbook before the first practice.
Requirements: All registered students and families are expected to meet the following requirements.
Behavior. All students are expected to be respectful, cooperative, and following all rules posted by the school.
Attendance. Please notify the club at mathclub@medinapta.org by Monday if you attend school but not the club.
Dismissal. All students should be picked up from the outside covered area at 4:00 pm. No late pickups.
Homework. All students need to report homework (signed and dated by parents for at least 4 days a week).
Volunteering. Long term volunteers are required for each group. Each family must volunteer at least 2 times in classrooms to help with attendance and organizing the classrooms. All volunteers need to be approved by Bellevue School District. Please see BSD webpage for Parent Volunteer Application.
IMPORTANT: These requirements will be strictly enforced. Violators will be removed from the club and space given to students on the waiting list.

Teams. Teams of 4 students will be formed based on level and family preferences. To keep the Medina teams competitive, the Club may recommend team adjustments.
Transportation. For all off-site competitions, parents are responsible to transport their kids.
Club Fees: $100 per student for the year. This will cover club expenses and the registration fees of all included competitions above. Optional competitions registration fees will be extra. All coaches and long term classroom volunteers receive one free student registration.
